How the numbers on D2Dungeons.Report are made, and why something might look different from what you expected. For the full rules, see Data & methodology.
General
What is D2Dungeons.Report?
A Destiny 2 dungeon tracker: Guardian profiles with every dungeon run, solo and flawless records, sherpa counts, leaderboards, and the weekly rotation with live modifiers. Everything comes from Bungie's official API, and every number has a stated origin.
Is this an official Bungie site?
No. It's a fan project made by Braaaytje, not affiliated with or endorsed by Bungie. It uses Bungie's public API like other community sites do.
Does it cost anything?
No. There are no accounts, ads or paid features. If you want to support the project, you can leave a tip on Ko-fi; it doesn't unlock anything.
Guardian profiles
How do I find my profile?
Type your Bungie Name in the search box at the top. Suggestions appear as you type, from the first letter; add the #1234 code to jump straight to the exact player.
Why does a profile take longer the first time?
The first visit downloads the complete dungeon history of every character, including deleted ones, and the carnage report of every completion. That can be thousands of requests to Bungie. Everything is kept, so later visits only fetch what's new and load in a second or two.
My profile shows nothing or says it's private. Why?
Bungie only shares activity history for accounts whose privacy settings allow it. If your history is private on Bungie.net, there's nothing we can read. Change your Bungie.net privacy settings and look yourself up again.
How up to date is a profile?
Each profile view checks Bungie for new activities; results are briefly cached, so a run you just finished can take a few minutes to appear. Bungie itself sometimes needs a moment to publish a carnage report.
What do the dots on the dungeon cards mean?
- Green: completed. Orange: completed from a checkpoint. Red: not completed (wipe or left). Gold star: flawless.
- Higher dots were faster. Drag the strip or the bar under it to scroll through older attempts.
- Click a dot for the full run: fireteam, kills, deaths, weapons and time.
Why are times shown in UTC?
The game's weekly reset is Tuesday 17:00 UTC, so UTC keeps weeks and resets unambiguous. You can switch to your own time zone in Settings.
Runs & badges
What's the difference between a full clear and a checkpoint clear?
A full clear started from the first encounter; a checkpoint clear started later in the dungeon. We use the carnage report's own start flag. Only full clears count for times (Fastest, Average) and leaderboards.
Why do some older runs say “start not recorded”?
Bungie only started recording whether a run began from the start with The Witch Queen (22 February 2022). Every earlier report says “not from the beginning”, even for fresh runs. Those runs count as completions, and as checkpoint runs only when the report shows they began at a later encounter. They don't count for times or leaderboards because a fresh start can't be proven.
How are solo flawless runs counted?
From the carnage report: one player, zero deaths, started from the beginning. We also read your in-game triumphs. When Bungie's triumph counter is higher than the runs we can confirm (for example older reports without a start flag), the badge shows the in-game count and explains the difference when you click it.
What do Day One, Week One and Contest mean?
- Day One: finished within 24 hours of the dungeon's launch. Week One: within 7 days.
- Contest: a clear of the dungeon's Contest Mode version, identified by the Contest Mode modifier in Bungie's data, or the contest triumph earned in game.
Can I see which runs a badge is based on?
Yes: click any badge, or Recent, Fastest or Average, to see the runs behind it, then click a run for details.
Can I see damage per encounter?
No. Bungie's carnage reports cover the whole activity (kills, deaths, weapons, time) and contain no damage numbers or per-encounter splits, so no site can show them from official data.
Sherpas
What counts as a sherpa?
A completion where you had cleared the dungeon before, and a teammate cleared it for the first time. Their first clear is their earliest completion of that dungeon in any version, deleted characters included; checkpoint clears count, because the dungeon was cleared.
Why does the sherpa check take so long?
To know whether a run was someone's first clear, we need that teammate's full history. An active player can have over a thousand teammates. Checks run one at a time in the background with a progress bar, and everything fetched is kept, so the next check is quick.
Why is a sherpa missing?
Teammates with a private history can't be checked; the sherpa section shows how many. A run also needs a carnage report on record.
Leaderboards
Who appears on the leaderboards?
Runs on record: from every profile looked up on the site, plus everyone in those fireteams. They are not a complete global ranking. Look yourself up and your runs are added.
Why isn't my fastest run on the board?
- Only full clears with a recorded fresh start count (so not runs before 22 February 2022).
- Each board keeps one entry per fireteam or player: your best time.
- Full clears only lists players whose complete history has been loaded, so counts are never partial.
Rotations & modifiers
Where do the featured dungeons come from?
This week's featured dungeons are read live from the game: the ones carrying the Weekly Dungeon Challenge. Upcoming weeks are calculated from the known rotation and labelled as predicted until the game confirms them.
Are the modifiers live?
Yes. They come from Bungie's live activity data, refreshed at most once a minute and right after the weekly reset. Master shield and Champion types differ per dungeon and are shown on each card.
Your data
What do you store about me?
Only public Destiny 2 data from Bungie's API: your Bungie Name, characters and dungeon activity. No account, no cookies, no tracking. The details are in the Privacy policy.
Can I have my data removed?
Yes. Send your Bungie Name to Braaaytje via Ko-fi and the stored records for your account are deleted. Setting your activity history to private on Bungie.net stops it from being collected again.
